Despair (2018)

I remade Despair in 2018 after finding that the file for the original was so big and possibly buggy that I could barely open it anymore or work with it. I created this version from the ground up as an attempt to improve on the original.

Ultimately it feels like a moderate to sideways improvement to me, with a lot of the guitar parts more fleshed out and arranged in more complex ways as I would have them now, vocal takes with more nuance and better recording quality, and an attempt at stripping back the massively over-layered ending I had in the original. I still like the original though.

Still it isn't perfect as the mix is still pretty muddy and I still haven't nailed the ending, so expect a final version on my forthcoming 2nd album.
