Despair took her Darkened the moon's pale light Despair broke her She surrendered to it without a fight Despair r*ped her Her stilted bones could not function right Despair made her Fall towards the center of the night She got lost in the city that night Despair take me Darken the moon's pale light Despair break me I surrender to you without a fight Despair r*pe me My stilted bones cannot function tonight Despair make me Fall towards the center of the night We got lost in the city that night Run through our cold heart streets tonight This is the stop This is despair Now is the time that you enter the nightmare! (The red moon is falling down...) The red moon is falling down! Fall towards the center of the night

You came to me at times When the trees had frozen spines In the piedmont Your terms undefined A hearty hello falls before a dejected stare at the floor (Where's your spirit gone?) You don't have to pull me underwater with you. Anymore. (Drowned in hollow ponds) Now there's no way to placate. Harmony deteriorates into nothing. (Where's your spirit gone?) One day for sure, we'll see what we were as a good memory (Drowned in hollow ponds) Gone bad. (I just.... I just don't know... I just don't know where this is going.) (I have no more sympathy. Your misery is not my responsibility.) (Don't laugh. This is unsustainable.) The hills hear your whispers The walls have eyes And the floors tell me that you've been lying all along We're doing everything wrong. (let's go) Why would you cast the spells at me when we could make it right Hiding from the one person pleading you dare not to take the blade to your life We both make huge mistakes We'll bury them all in darkness and hope that they won't come back And now we can see (We just can't stop running in place) As clear as smoke screen tears in our eyes - good times, are eaten, alive We just can't stop running in place We'll bury them in darkness and hope that they won't come back We can't stop running in place We can't stop running in place We just can't stop running in place.

Secret 05:05
I wanted you to wait for me But you couldn't be asked to stay There's no words I can say to change what happened It's all gone wrong and may never be the same It will never be the same Lift the weight from your shoulders Cause it's not a secret anymore (I am the one who is always left out in your plans) There's no way to announce your departure Now we know who's better at playing pretend No way of knowing if I'll ever again see you like this Already abandoned before the end. Lift the weight from your shoulders Cause it's not a secret anymore Don't hold on to it, just loosen your grasp Wind blowing, the tide showing Misdirection at every turn The waves crashing, your blade clashing The bruised hearts of the spurned (I can't remember the last time you said something genuine to me) Laughing, madly (I am discovering that you weren't quality company) At your lit up silver screen (I can't remember the last time you said something genuine to me) Can't wake up from the never ending dream (I am discovering that you weren't quality company) Lift the weight from your shoulders Cause it's not a secret anymore Don't hold on to it, it's out of your control And it's not a secret anymore Anymore (Goodbye)
4.
I see you at night and I stare at you You don't care for me Without the light, I still glare at you Look away from me So don't lie, it's taken you all night Of feeling the same with me So don't die, it's taken you all night Of feeling the same You are too old to fare on your own (please please please release me) You are too old to fare on your own (oh please please please release me) And they say, it can't be won When it's your eyes touching my eyes to the past we know They say, it can't be done and they say, it's all just fun It's your eyes, touching my eyes Don't like what you find, staring back at you You don't care for me So don't lie, it's taken you all night Of feeling the same with me And you know that I won't, know that I won't You are too old to fare on your own And they say, it can't be won When it's your eyes touching my eyes to the past we know They say, it can't be done and they say, it's all just fun When it's your eyes touching my eyes Can you hear my faintest breath? Is it amplified? The number that I've become will put you inside I've got a message that I must relay No, I can't delay it one more day (it's not going well) It is desperate, can you relate? Can you please, please relate? (I'm not holding up) Will you comfort me? You'll comfort me? And they say, it can't be won When it's your eyes touching my eyes to the past we know They say, it can't be done and they say, it's all just fun When it's your eyes touching my eyes This isn't you that I came here for (Just open up your eyes, you dead ones) [all ashes on the floor] This isn't you that I waited for This isn't you that I came here for (Just open up your eyes, you dead ones) [I will never need you more] This isn't you that I waited for Just open up your eyes (oh, please, please, please release me) You dead ones (oh, please, please, please release me) [That I waited for] Just open up your eyes (oh, please, please, please release me) You dead ones (oh, please, please, please release me)

Red Moon 03:32
I might appear to sit across from you But I'm not actually here The red moon has taken me away (And left an empty shell) Don't know why it has come back again But it's left me very uncertain Of whether I should just go or stay (Neither suits me well) Doubt arrests my mind again (These doubts are arresting...) Watch my face fade away (Come on and, come on and) Second guess my disarray (Come on and second guess my...) Watch my face fade away (It's just not enough / Is this enough?) I was not prepared For your unwelcome visit I was quite comfortable with my black skies (You show up when you please) But I know that there is little I can do to stop you From making your blood moon arise (You bring me to my knees!) Doubt arrests my mind again (These doubts are arresting...) Watch my face fade away (Come on and, come on and) Second guess my disarray (Come on and second guess my...) Watch my face fade away (Here it comes now...) The feeling arrives when the red moon arises (Is any of this really happening?) And I just can't escape (Am I being led astray?) The source of my fright and my lack of foresight My clouded thoughts, my doubtful heart The home of despair in this land of nightmares And I can not ESCAPE If it's red, it's dead. I'm living in my head.

Album art by Mike Radack, based on a picture taken by Nathaniel Jones in July 2014.

This album was a living document. It was updated twice to make improvements (+ Red Moon a third time in 2017).

Patch notes:

9/24/16: Tried to improve the mixes of Despair and Red Moon. Both are slightly louder and the bass and kick drums in both should sound more present. And one vocal line in Despair is a lil quieter now.

11/6/16: Increased the volume of every track just in time for a "physical release". More unspecified mixing improvements.

9/10/17: Improved Red Moon for the 3rd time. Tighter drum grooves & 'fixed' the lead guitar chorus melody.

3/16/19 - Final Update: Removed Last January's Gloom & Black Sky demo bonus track. Added Despair (2018): a newer version of Despair, and Dream Punk from Every Nothing. Updated Red Moon for the 4th and FINAL time for this EP. Removed vocal copies, raised bass guitar volume, and improved Lead Guitar parts once more, throughout the track.

1/24/20: Re-added Last January's Gloom cus it slaps

1/23/21: Removed Dream Punk.
